Its been awhile...

I'm thinking this whole blog thing has been more of a failure than a success. I don't know what to write about nor do I feel I have anything interesting to say.

I suppose I will just continue the life updates..

Lets start with work. I have been in a classroom since March from 7:30-4:30 everyday. Working morning hours is a great thing! But starting Monday June 1, I will be going into work at 1:30 in the afternoon and working until 11:30 at night. 3 days a week with two shorter shifts the two other days those weeks. Its only for 3 weeks but I can't help but fear the tiring evening and long hours. (I am not a night owl thats for sure).  I'm hoping this will help to get mine and brandon's schedules to coincide for awhile. It will be a nice change for us.

In other work news, many children are moving up to older classrooms or are leaving for the summer. I can't wait for the exciting adventures for these kids... but I can't lie, I am a little excited for a few of these children to move up. Its hard when your personality clashes with a child, loving them is definitely harder...

Samson, however, told me the other day that he goes to church with Papa and when they are at church papa says, "Hallelujah! Praise Jesus!" I couldn't help but laugh. I asked him if he knew who Jesus was and he told me no. I am technically not suppose to talk to children about Jesus, but I tried to explain to him a little bit who Jesus was. Samson, his home life isn't the greatest.  It breaks my heart when mom drops him off everyday and yells at him to "shut up" if he's crying or to do whatever it is that we are doing at the time. He needs extra love, he doesn't respond to yelling, he needs a comfort.
It makes me sad that as a daycare we can only do so much for children, and some like Samson, go home to screaming and yelling and neglect. And when we call CPS what do they do? NOTHING. I have only had to call CPS once in my life and they never called me back, but thankfully a few people called on the same matter and two got through. TWO. out of how many calls? After 24 hrs you can no longer report it... I understand that there are cases when CPS is called and they DO go out and check things out and it turns out to be nothing... but what about all the others when its more? Too many kids are forgotten and pushed to the side because "She can return your call in another 10-15 minutes" and then doesn't... Sorry about my rant but I just get frustrated!

Moving on... Brandon and I have only been working and chilling out. He is still planning on going back to school this fall... but really there is nothing too new on the home front.... except for the red dining room!

Thats all I got for now. Maybe something more interesting later...

  1. I have the same problem. I suppose you just kinda write about nothing particular. It doesn't have to be life updates it can be your thoughts on something going on in politics, sports, or life in general. I always like to start with the news and see if there is anything that I can expand on.
