9 weeks and counting

So, in case you are interested, here's a little story to help you
see how we came to where we are now. A little over 3 weeks
ago, (August 6) I took an at home pregnancy test, a digital
one at that. Brandon was noticing that certain things were
changing things which only he, of course, would notice. SO
to prove him wrong, I decided to take this test. As you may
suspect, I was more surprised than Brandon at finding out our
wonderful (terrifying, exciting, etc) news that morning.

(Again, click the pic for a better view)

For 3 weeks we had to keep this news a secret from almost everyone,
except our families. When we got to the office, the receptionist at the front desk
asked for my date of birth, well, to this I responded, "I don't know yet!"
Then realized, oh, MY birthday not when the BABY is DUE! Brandon and I
had a good laugh about that most of the day.
When we finally got in to see the doctor, actually nurse,
we gave our family history, then out we went to make an appointment for
an ultra sound (we were able to have it done since we weren't 100%
sure how far along we were). Well, we saw that little peanut
baby on the screen, it wiggled and we even heard the heartbeat! The
technician told us our due date is April 2, 2010. Say NOTHING about
an "April Fool's Baby" its really not funny... Anyway, this
"peanut baby" only looks like a peanut on the screen, but in reality
its 6 cm long and really about the size of those orange foam circus peanuts.

Side Note: I had a NIGHTMARE that when we had the ultrasound
done, it would be
A.) A vaginal ultrasound
and
B.) Jim Gafigan was going to be performing it.
I dreamt this over and over and over (etc) again! Needless to say,
the appointment lady made sure to reassure me that Jim Gafigan does NOT work
at their office and there would be nothing to worry about, of course
she laughed before she got anything else out....

ANYWAY, needless to say, everything is going smoothly, and the
prescribed prenatal vitamins actually make me less nauseous than the
ones I was taking before, which is beautiful! And in closing, In case you couldn't
tell from the ultrasound pics, I am 9 weeks already and well on my way OUT
of the first trimester, which is the most exciting part... less sickness/nausea,
more energy, and well, the tummy gets bigger! Though to be honest,
It is already protruding, but I chalk that up to the inability to suck in any
longer with a little mass of baby in the tummy.

Hope you enjoyed this blog!
